Dean Hermitage

Dean is the Strategic Director for Planning at Uttlesford District Council, where he also leads the Economic Development and Climate-Change functions. He has a wealth of experience in local government transformation and performance improvement, alongside expertise in policy development, development management, governance, and design review.  Previously, Dean served as Deputy Director of Planning Casework at MHCLG and has led planning teams at both Haringey and Southend-on-Sea. He is also a member of the Essex Quality Review Panel and serves as Vice Chair of the Essex Planning Officers Association.
