Planning Director , Telford Living

Katie Hale is the Planning Director at Telford Living, where she manages the planning strategies for pipeline sites and provides strategic advice on potential and new acquisitions. Katie has responsibility for managing the firm’s relationship with relevant planning stakeholders, including the Department for Homes, Communities and Local Government, the GLA and the London Boroughs. She also leads community and political engagement strategies for Telford Living as part of the planning process.

She has more than 20 years of town planning experience, having worked with both the public and private sectors, including 10 years with the Savills Central London planning team. With a strong focus on London, Katie has developed a specialist knowledge of the residential market, both in prime and subprime locations, securing planning permissions throughout London for a wide range of clients and across many Boroughs. Katie has been involved in several high-profile regeneration schemes and residential masterplans, alongside mixed-use, commercial and educational-led developments.

Since joining Telford Living in 2019, Katie has been responsible for securing planning permission for more than 2,500 residential units, which are a significant part of the firm’s Build to Rent pipeline. Schemes include Alperton Bus Depot in Brent, which was Telford Living’s first bespoke Build to Rent application, which will deliver new Build to Rent and affordable homes alongside creative and maker commercial spaces. More recently, she has successfully led the proposed redevelopment of ‘Roden Street’ in Ilford, which will deliver a town centre regeneration scheme combining over 1,000 new Build to Rent, affordable and student homes alongside commercial spaces and a new public park.
